Khmer Girls in Action (KGA)

MISSION

Khmer Girls in Action (KGA) is a community-based organization whose mission is to build a progressive and sustainable Long Beach community that works for gender, racial and economic justice led by Southeast Asian young women.

VISION

Our vision is a safe, healthy and just world where all people are free from oppression and are able to determine their lives and communities.

Curricula

Roots of Race

Goals:
  • Learn about the different types of racism, and how racism affects our communities and everyday lives.
  • Deepen our analysis of how institutional racism affects communities of color.

White Supremacy

Goals:
  • Understand the history of white supremacy and its role in the construction of the U.S.
  • Discuss our experiences with white supremacy, race and racism.

Making Gender and Patriarchy

Goals:
  • Break down the gender binary
  • Understand the difference between sex, gender, and sexual orientation
  • Understand patriarchy and how it affects all of us
