Students will become familiar with decision making structures in their school and groups that influence those decisions at their school.


Participants will understand leadership class expectations and build trust through team building activities. Students will continue to build unity through sharing their personal and family histories and culture.


Participants will understand the basic process of creating a good presentation and practice creating a workshop/presentation. Additionally students will practice public speaking basics and give each other feedback on strengths and weaknesses.


Students will be grounded in the history of student engagement in Oakland. Students will discuss power and become familiar with school power structure.


In this session, we will talk about the growth of a new kind of “global city” and the role that domestic work plays in making the global city work.
